Kiko Goifman is 37 years old and was born in Belo Horizonte (Now, lives in São Paulo), Brazil. Major works focus on making documentaries as well as experimental projects on film, video, sites and CD-ROMs.

Educational Background
Anthropologist graduated by Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, Master in Multimedia/Universidade de Campinas – UNICAMP (sponsored by Fundação Ford)

- "33",
feature length documentary, 35mm. 2003. Supported by Hubert Bals Fund - selected for Locarno Festival, Rotterdam Festival/2003 (about "True Stories"), Marseille Festival and NoirFest in Italy.

- "Dense Death", 2003 (55 minutes documentary about one-time murderers - with support from Prince Claus Fund - Locarno Festival and Miami International Film Festival).

- “Tereza” (about the routine in a prison) – short film, 1992 (Competitive Show - Havana Festival - Cuba (1992) Best documentary at the VI Video Festival of Porto Alegre (1993) Best national video at XVI Guarnicê de Vídeo in state of Maranhão (1993)

Video Installation
Belo Horizonte, 1995. Conducted a video installation “4 Versions about 1 crime”, at the ForumBHZVideo. The work deals with different ways of understanding a crime (rape) which took place in Lavras, state of Minas Gerais. Guest artist of the project Antárctica Artes with Folha de São Paulo in São Paulo/1996, with the video installation “Temporalities”. With Jurandir Müller took part in the 24 th and 25 th Bienal de Artes de São Paulo. In 2005, there was a retrospective of his films and installations in Toulouse Festival.

Lectures, Courses and Debates
Panelist in the South American Meeting of filmmakers in Bariloche, organized by Vitae, Rockfeller and Mac Arthur Foundations. Attended several video discussions in several states of Brazil. He also participated in debates about documentaries with Frederick Wiseman (Montreal/1994), Jean Rouch (São Paulo/1998), Catherine David (São Paulo/2002).

- AUTHOR OF THE BOOK AND CD-ROM “JACKS IN SLOW-MOTION”. THE CENTRAL PLOT IS THE NOTION OF TIME IN PRISON EVERYDAY LIFE. THE CD-ROM WON THE 7TH GRAND PRIX MÖBIUS INTERNATIONALE IN PARIS/98, AND WAS CHOSEN TO TAKE PART IN THE EUROPEAN MEDIA ART FESTIVAL IN GERMANY AS WELL AS TO TAKE PART IN FESTIVALS IN ITALY AND CANADA.
